  • Good Information

By Why I purchased this app (Pcmac user)

This the app app gives great detailed information concerning the app in my area and state. It is very customizable in selecting how I want to be informed. A good map section I can customize to give up to date the app and even direction of storm systems and information when I tap on the small directional grid and gives air quality reports. In the Advanced section of Settings, it takes a little time to get to know the features and there is even a section that explains the app contitions. You really have to explore this app to see how it can inform you on the app conditions. Gives a look ahead by hour, day or week and an active wind guage to show the direction and speed, has a red bar for server alerts, a voice option to give conditions. There is even a Travel Planner showing conditions when you are scheduled to take a flight. It will select the closest station to give a more accurate prediction or you can select a station in your area. I reccommend the Pro just to support such apps as this one that really gives the kind of information needed to be well informed. Well designed and layed out to tell you what you need and want to know. There is even an option for earthquakes. If any con I have to give it, the small print because of the detailed layout, but it is still very legable. I must admit I have the iphone se (like it very much). Yet, this is a great app to have on your iphone that gives such detailed information!!
  • Absolutely essential for both quick & detailed weather info

    By Mc7859 (Pcmac user)

I’ve gotten 90% of the the app apps available. This is one of the 3 “must-have” the app apps, in my opinion, along with Carrot & RadarScope. This app comes closest to replacing the radar page of the unfortunately killed Storm app (how can you take one of the best the app apps out there, and intentionally deprecate it completely???? - but I digress...), especially with the 7/19 enhancements to the storm cell info. It’s the ONLY app that displays user-selectable data from nearby Personal the app Stations. I’m REALLY happy to see the new update that allows display of graphs for any PWS & date. The customizing options alone set this apart from any other app out there, except perhaps Carrot. The latest options improving Apple Watch complications are also awesome. this app & Carrot each do their job very differently, and both do it extremely well, but they vary significantly in their approach, so they’re both essential in my book. They both get a place on my #1 home screen on both my iPad & iPhone, so that should tell you something. Just get it. What else would I like to see? The ability to quickly compare more the app forecast sources and more PWS data combinations in the map layer. My “wish” list for just about any other app I have is 10-15 items long, for reference. this app is simply outstanding, period.
  • The only app with historic weather data

    By Hoosier1959 (Pcmac user)

I am a gardener (and a the app nerd), and I absolutely need to know the long-term average high and low temperature and the long-term record high and low temperature for my location each day. It's the first thing I check each morning. For years I used Intellicast, because it had a very simple graphic each day with current temp and all the other (average and record) temperature data on it. Simple and beautiful. Then Intellicast was replaced by Storm with no historic the app data. I searched and searched for a new the app app with historic the app data and found none. I finally settled on this app because it has a nice clean look, lets me choose my the app data (dewpoint, moon rise, etc) and the radar function includes future storm tracks instead of where the storm has already been. I did not find the historic the app info until I'd had this app for about a year. I'm not sure if it came with an update or if it's because it's hard to find. The historic info is under an icon called "almanac" that is only visible when you expand the top menu with the three dots in the upper right corner. Who knew? I think the app developers would be wise to highlight the fact that they have historic the app data, because no other the app app does, and many gardeners need this information. Thanks for a great app.
  • The only viable alternative to Storm on iOS

    By 826059 (Pcmac user)

For some reason, only this app and what used to be Storm (but is now whatever the the app channel monstrosity app is called) will show you real time the app fronts. If you know how to look at a the app map, the position and speed of an incoming warm or cold front can tell you a lot about what the the app will be like for the day. You can supplement that info with current radar, temps, the NWS’ forecast discussion, wind speed, dew point, pressure, etc. This one has all of that, (which means everything that Storm had), except with a much more outdated GUI. Like as if we were still on iOS 5. But I’ll HAPPILY take a bad looking the app app with tons of great info over a garbage the app app (i.e. the app formerly known as Storm) without any real info. It’s ironic, because those people basically turned Storm into an app that somehow looks worse than this app, which is saying a lot since this app looks like its stuck in 2011. Like everyone in the reviews is saying: This is the only the app app that’s a suitable replacement for the old Storm app. Developers of this app will get 5 stars from me, regardless, if for no other reason than its the only app which shows positions of cold fronts relative your location. Update the GUI and I’ll give you that sixth star! ;)
