Download and install the Character Pad app on your Windows 10,8,7 or Mac in 4 simple steps below:

Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac:

Install the emulator on your PC or Mac:
On your computer, goto the Downloads folder » click to install Bluestacks.exe or Nox.exe » Accept the License Agreements » Follow the on-screen prompts to complete installation.

Using Character Pad on PC [Windows 7/ 8/8.1/ 10/ 11]:

Open the Emulator app you installed » goto its search bar and search "Character Pad"
The search will reveal the Character Pad app icon. Open, then click "Install".
Once Character Pad is downloaded inside the emulator, locate/click the "All apps" icon to access a page containing all your installed applications including Character Pad.

Download the Amazon-Appstore » (U.S only)
- Click on "Get" to begin installation. It also automatically installs Windows Subsystem for Android.
- After installation, Goto Windows Start Menu or Apps list » Open the Amazon Appstore » Login (with Amazon account)

For non-U.S users, Download the OpenPC software »
- Upon installation, open OpenPC app » goto Playstore on PC » click Configure_Download. This will auto-download Google Play Store on your Windows 11.

Installing Character Pad:
- Login to your computer's PlayStore or Amazon AppStore.
- Search for "Character Pad" » Click "Install" to install Character Pad

Every time I try to use it it includes a question mark inside a box. I just want the the app. Don’t need a stupid boxed question mark beside it. Completely overshadows the chosen the app.

Find the the app or symbol you need and tap it. It's copied to the clipboard, from which you can insert it into your document. iPhone's clipboard, unlike Microsoft's computer clipboard, seems to hold only one item at a time. So if you have to insert more than one the app, you have to go back and forth between the app and your document until your document contains all needed characters--then you can copy them from inside the document for reuse in that document. This can be clumsy & slow going sometimes. Hence 4 stars not 5. But this app has never failed to deliver the characters I need--subscripts, superscripts, math symbols, Greek--material needed by serious users. Sad that this material was (I suppose) ignored by (or unknown to) some developers at Apple, who (I imagine) dropped out of college instead of growing their minds. Can't Apple buy this app and thus integrate its software, making it accessible from Settings > General > Keyboard > Languages? ERHmd
Love this app, but wish there were more characters

I do a lot of writing, brainstorming, and communication related work on my iPad, and I love using these little images to add emphasis or just take the monotony out of certain tasks. But.. for a paid app, I wish there were more than just the 2 pages. Hoping to see an update with new categories/additional characters added!

I'm happy to pay a dollar for the new in-app purchase. Making this app took time and effort, and it's OK with me to exchange money for labor at a reasonable rate determined by the person doing the work. (I have never met this developer. This is a principle thing.)
