What is EasyMeasure? EasyMeasure is an app that uses the camera lens of your iPhone or iPad to measure the distance to objects in your surroundings. It has a user-friendly interface with Retina Display Graphics and 3D engine, and supports Augmented Reality (AR) to make measurements even easier. The app can measure distance and can be updated to measure the height and width of objects. It also includes the possibility to calibrate your iPhone/iPad for most accurate results and displays the accuracy of measurement. EasyMeasure supports Metric and Imperial units and has an animated tutorial to explain the measurement procedure.

Software Features and Description

1. How does it work? EasyMeasure uses the height of the camera lens (determined automatically by AR if your device supports that) and its tilt angle to calculate the distance to the object.

2. Simply aim your iPhone/iPad to any object in your surroundings, and EasyMeasure displays the distance towards that object on top of the camera image.

3. Do not use EasyMeasure for construction or other uses where inaccurate measurements could cause personal injury or property damage.

4. EasyMeasure® shows the distance to objects seen through the camera lens of your iPhone or iPad.

5. NOTE: Measurements taken with EasyMeasure are not as accurate as measurements taken with standard tools.

Doesn’t work at all

I used the AR feature first after install and maybe that’s the problem because it’s not working at all. It’s telling me my office wall is greater than 3500 feet away and that’s not right. I should have paid more attention to what the readings were before I hastily bought the “upgrade” so I could measure things because now I’ve wasted $9 for nothing. I tried doing the manual calibration and that doesn’t help either. Also the small box to measure things in the center is off screen I can’t see it anymore after I tried to reposition it around an office sign to measure its dimensions. Should have saved myself $9 and just used a measuring tape. I’m using an iPhone 6s Plus with iOS 11.4

I’ve been using this app for a couple of years now and it keeps getting better (even tho I didn’t think that was possible!) I use it in volunteer work with the Red Cross in measuring locations to figure out how many clients we can shelter, feed, evac etc.... So much easier than using a tape and we have discovered it is REALLY accurate! Everyone wanted to use my phone when we are doing shelter surveys, but now we all have the app!
It helped me went to bed thank you

Whether my measurements were accurate or not I'm not sure if I did it correctly but it was easy to use didn't understand it but I like it and it help me when I've been on my boyfriend I didn't tell him if the measurements were right he just didn't think I could do it thank you
This tool is as good as your phone’s accelerometer and only on level ground

This tool uses trigonometry, with a starting point largely determined by you, to calculate the distance between the ground directly under your phone and the object you are pointing to. This means that you must use the ground to measure your distances and you must be standing and you must be on level ground for it to be accurate. In those conditions this tool works well.
