  • Good app, needs Some improvement

    By Elsalovescats (Pcmac user)

I absolutely adore this app, when I feel like baking something I look around and just go for it! I also just love watching the videos of how to make the food! However, I think the app needs some improvement. I love that they added a section where you can leave tips, that’s extremely useful. But, some recipes are outdated or don’t work, or just don’t taste that good. This is resolved due to the tips but still I think they could update the recipes themselves to help others. Another issue I found is that the links don’t work, at the bottom of the app there are recipe ideas and other posts. In those posts there are links to the recipes, when you click on them they don’t work. It would be cool if you could click on it and the recipe would pop up online or in the app. I also have an idea for this app, why not let users create there own recipes and have a separate tab to search user recipes? I think that would be cool and people could leave comments on their recipes. I highly recommend this app for any beginner baker/cooker or actually anyone!!
  • I love Tasty, but a few things:

    By madamsunnykitten (Pcmac user)

I've loved the this app app, and I've watched it ever since it was a thing, and when you came out with an app, I immediately downloaded it. I like that you included a step-by-step mode so you can make the recipe. But here are a few things that I don't like: -it's not very sorted out. I wish it was more organized, like sometimes I can't find a recipe that I want; for example, that is no-bake, and I can't find one. I wish that you could fix that. -some recipes you can't watch without having to watch the whole video it is in. So sometimes you guys make 4 ways recipes and sometimes I only want to watch one of it. I wish for that to be an option. -to many vegan recipes. [ THIS IS MY OPINION ] it may be because you've made so many recipes that you are running out of ideas, but I believe you guys are coming out with only vegan or vegetarian recipes. I'd like for it to be more assorted and not just diet plans or re-posts. Thank you for reading!
  • Great app for cooking

    By CaptAdmiral (Pcmac user)

I’ve had this app for over a year now and I think this is great for anyone who loves cooking; the step by step videos are one of the fastest methods I’ve come across since it allows you to see what the dish should look like at each stage and you can rewind or just wait for the video to loop, this is great when you are making a recipe for the first time. This was a go-to app when we decide what to cook for dinner. I say ‘was’ because the reason I’m writing this review today and only giving it 3 stars is while browsing to plan dinners for the week, suddenly there are ads popping up between videos where before there weren’t. C’mon this app I thought you were better than that. I understand that income is necessary but I was hoping you were getting the bulk of it from your cookware and book line as well as from your association with Buzzfeed. Now my cooking experience is interrupted by someone trying to sell me an electric toothbrush or apply for a credit card. I’m not saying I’m never going to use the app again, but I will think twice before I do and will more than likely break out our trusty cookbook instead.
  • Love the app, except shopping list

    By Mtbe4 (Pcmac user)

I really love this app. It is great except the shopping list is really not useful to me unless I’m just missing something. It just shows you the recipes and has a list of all the ingredients. Then lists another recipe and lists all the ingredients etc. you can remove ingredients from each recipe but still who shops by recipe? No one..it would make way more sense to add a recipe and then select which ingredients you need instead of defaulting everything to the list..I don’t need to buy salt every day and for every recipe. Usually I only need one or two things. Should add selected ingredients to a list and the list should be organized by food type (produce, spices, etc). It would be cool to see which recipe you are making that needs that ingredient still somehow (drill down menu?) As is I honestly just use a different app which I manually type in the ingredients I need because it actually organizes the ingredients and frankly it’s quicker than managing a 20 ingredient dump when all I need is ginger or something.
